JEFF SPANGLER, TROON’S SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF SCIENCE AND AGRONOMY, INDUCTED INTO ARIZONA GOLF HALL OF FAME

Scottsdale, Ariz. (December 1, 2019) – Jeff Spangler, Troon’s Senior Vice President of Science and Agronomy, was recently inducted into the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame. Spangler was among five new inductees honored at the 2019 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony hosted at Paradise Valley Country Club on November 26, 2019.

Spangler is one of the leading agronomic experts in the world of golf. He began his career with Troon® at Troon North Golf Club, where he opened the industry-leading club with Troon Founder and now Executive Chairman, Dana Garmany, and brought a new level of agronomic conditioning to the resort/daily-fee course world. In 1993, Spangler was promoted to Troon’s Director of Agronomy and was later promoted to Senior Vice President, Science and Agronomy. He continues to oversee all agronomic programs for Troon. Spangler has been instrumental in standardizing high-level golf course agronomics, including environmental conservation, occupational safety and economic management across a global platform of 500 plus golf courses located in 45 states and 33 countries worldwide.

“What a special night honoring an incredible professional, colleague and friend,” said Tim Schantz, president and chief executive officer, Troon. “Jeff is a real innovator in the world of agronomy. His induction into the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame is a well-earned and well deserved honor. On behalf of and from the entire Troon family, a heartfelt thank you and congratulations.”

Under Spangler’s agronomic leadership, Troon facilities around the globe have received numerous awards and accolades, including multiple courses ranked as “Best Conditioned Golf Course in the U.S.” by Golf Digest and Golf Advisor. Prior to joining Troon, Spangler served tenures at Scioto Country Club, Muirfield Village Golf Club and The Pebble Beach Company.

In addition to Spangler, the 2019 Arizona Golf Hall of Fame induction class also included journalist John Davis; professional golfer and architect Tom Lehman; business industry leader Doug Hawken; and club management veteran Richard Kopplin.
