TROON AND GARY WOODLAND MAKE $5,000 DONATION TO FOLDS OF HONOR CHICAGOLAND CHAPTER

Chicago, Ill. (August 16, 2019) – Troon, world’s largest golf management company, and Team Troon Ambassador Gary Woodland presented a $5,000 donation to the Folds of Honor Chicagoland Chapter prior to the PGA TOUR’s BMW Championship at Medinah Country Club. The $5,000 donation equals one Folds of Honor educational scholarship that will be awarded to a spouse and/or child of a wounded or fallen service member. In 2019, there are 100 scholarship recipients.

Troon’s President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Schantz and Chief Operating Officer Bruce Glasco were at the tournament along with Woodland to present the donation to Larry Robinson, vice president corporate development, Folds of Honor. Chicago is the largest Folds of Honor chapter in the country (from a fundraising standpoint) and is the first, original chapter. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Chicagoland Area Chapter of Folds of Honor.

“We’d like to thank Troon and Gary Woodland for joining our mission at Folds of Honor to help us change lives,” said Robinson.

The Folds of Honor Chicagoland Area Chapter donation follows the opening of Troon’s new Chicago office which supports the company’s growing collection of clubs in the region, including Naperville Country Club in Naperville and Kemper Lakes Golf Club in Kildeer.

“We are absolutely honored to partner with Gary and support Folds of Honor,” said Schantz. “We look forward to further partnering with the Chicagoland Area Chapter of Folds of Honor and raising additional funds for this worthy cause.”

Woodland was the 2018 recipient of the Corporal Brock Bucklin Patriot award for his support of the Folds of Honor. In February, Woodland became a member of Team Troon – a collection of some of the finest golf talent across the PGA TOUR, LPGA and European Tour. In addition to Woodland, Tour players Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Alex Noren, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Cheyenne Woods make up the star-studded Team Troon line-up and represent the Troon brand on Tour.
