Lower Your Scores With A Balanced And Compatible Swing

The following is a guest post by Tim Mahoney, Director of Education, Troon Golf.

When golfers attempt swing changes without regard to keeping a balanced and compatible swing, inconsistency is the result.

Keep in mind that a weak grip should be balanced with a forward ball position, centered pivot, open-faced swing path that is out-to-in with aggressive hand action through impact.

A stronger grip should be balanced with a centered ball position, close-faced path from in-to-out and an aggressive body motion through impact.

There has never been a perfect swing, and probably never will. Golf swings can be upright (Jack Nicklaus), flat (Ben Hogan), close-faced (David Duval) or open-faced (Nancy Lopez). As long as all the parts are balanced and compatible, consistency is the result.
