Rio Verde Country Club Hosts 20th Annual Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational

Rio Verde, Ariz. (March 15, 2023) – Rio Verde Country Club recently hosted 18 women’s collegiate golf teams from across the country during the 20th annual Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational. The three-day competition saw Xavier capture the team championship by 17 strokes over second place Kennesaw State. Xavier junior Emma McMyler with rounds of 71-71-73 and Central Michigan sophomore Casilda Allendesalazar with rounds of 73-72-72 tied for top honors in the individual competition. The tournament, which was hosted in conjunction with Western Michigan University, was played on Rio Verde’s par-72 Quail Run Golf Course at 6,044 yards.

Rio Verde Country Club members and community residents graciously volunteered their time to coordinate the event. In total, more than two dozen members and residents worked on the four-day event, which included a Thursday practice round. Golfers were served multiple meals and enjoyed the hospitality.
