Year-Round Fun: At Eagle Crest Resort, The Options Are Many

There’s a whole lot of golf to be played at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond, Oregon, one of the newest facilities in the Troon family. In addition to the resort’s two championship-caliber 18-hole, par 72 courses, there’s an 18-hole executive course, and an 18-hole putting course.

Located in the high desert of Cen-tral Oregon, Eagle Crest Resort is set against the backdrop of the Cascade Mountains. The Gene Mason-de-signed Resort Course is adjacent to the resort and runs along the rim
of the Deschutes River Canyon and throughout the original Eagle Crest housing development. The 18-hole course plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,704 yards from the back tees.

The John Thronson-designed Ridge Course measures 6,927 yards as it threads its way through native juniper trees. The Ridge Course will host the Oregon Open Invitational, the state’s championship open to both amateur and professional golfers, in 2023. The course previously hosted the prestigious event in 2006.

The executive-length, par-63 Challenge Course is popular with beginners as it covers 4,160 yards. All three courses are open year around, weather permitting.

“Eagle Crest Resort is a wonderful addition to the Troon family of man-aged clubs,” said Darrell Morgan, vice president operations, Troon. “The resort’s location is breathtaking, the courses are very good and the property is spectacular. We will look to further elevate the golf experience at Eagle Crest from improved course conditions to enhanced service levels for resort guests and daily fee players.”

Eagle Crest is a full-service destination resort located on 1,700 acres just outside the city of Redmond. Nestled against the majestic Cascade Mountains, about 15 minutes from Bend, Eagle Crest boasts over 300 days of sunshine each year with an annual rainfall of fewer than nine inches. Accommodations include a lodge, as well as two- to four-bedroom vacation home rentals that are perfect for families and groups. The resort also offers a spa, three sports centers, and five pools. The resort is managed by Ambridge Hospitality.

The area is known for outdoor adventures year-round, including river rafting, hiking, and biking during the warmer summers; and skiing or snowmobile tours of the backcountry during winter months.

“As we take Eagle Crest to the next level in terms of service, course conditions, and marketing, Troon was the obvious choice to serve as our management company,” said Eagle Crest Resort’s owner, Dr. Kiran Patel. “Troon is the premier management organization in the golf industry. Their expertise and resources will help ensure that Eagle Crest delivers an exceptional experience for golfers.”
