PGA TOUR- ZOZO Championship

Alex Noren was over in Japan last week competing in the ZOZO Championship at Narashino Country Club. This marked the third week in a row competing in consecutive events (and was coming off a great event last week where he finished T3 in Las Vegas). He started with three rounds in the 70’s and then carded a 67 on his final day to move into the top 50 for the event. He averaged 68% greens in regulation for the tournament as well as a driving distance average of 309 off the tee. Solid final round Alex and hopefully you get a break soon!

LPGA Q-School

It was an exciting week for our newest member of Team Troon, Benedetta Moresco. Last week at Stage 2 of LPGA Q-School in Venice, FL she continued her quest for LPGA Status. She got off to a rough start after an opening round 76 but improved with every round. She clawed back to T80 going into the final round (the Top 40 advance to Stage 3 “Q-Series”. After a bogey on her first hole of the final round she would rattle off 7 birdies to shoot a final round 66 and vault up to T25 and finish -3 for the tournament. CLICK HERE to view complete results.

  • T25 Benedetta Moresco: 76-71-72-66 = 285 / -3

She now moves on to Stage 3 LPGA Q Series at Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, AL, November 30th-December 5th, 2023. There should be roughly 100 participants in this final stage. The Top 20 receive full status on the LPGA Tour (one category below the Epson Tour Top 10). Then the next 25 receive conditional LPGA Tour Status. The remaining will have status on the Epson Tour for 2024.

Congrats Benedetta on your T25 at Stage 2 …and Go Low at Stage 3!

Coming Up

While not Team Troon per say, a special event is taking place in Maui that has played host to a number of stars that have eventually gone on to professional success (including Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns and many more). Kaanapali is hosting the Kaanapali Classic this week where 20 collegiate teams will be competing in this annual tradition (including Clemson, Georgia, KU, University of Wyoming, University of Colorado, Oklahoma, host school in University of Hawaii and more). This year they will not only be competing, but will also be helping drive donations for Maui wildfire victims. In partnership with Spare for Change and Member for a Day, the event and the host teams created a donation campaign set up for those to donate a one-time contribution or donate a dollar amount of your choice for each birdie and eagle made by the team of your choice during the event. This campaign has no minimum donation and no cost to register. Here’s how you can help: A) Make a one-time contribution of your choice B) Donate the dollar amount of your choice for each birdie and eagle made by your favorite team. Be sure to spread the word to pledge a donation for your team (or make a donation in general)  CLICK HERE for more info.  Good luck in advance to the Team at Kaanapali. We know you will put on a yet another great event.

Have a great week and go Team Troon!
