PGA TOUR – Texas Children’s Houston Open

Last week, members of Team Troon competed in the Texas Children’s Houston Open at Memorial Park Golf Course. This event specifically works with the Astros Golf Foundation, the Birdies for Charity program and the Chevron Stem Center for Education, supporting the Houston Community and assisting the development of youth. Alex Noren and Gary Woodland were both in the field and both carded great finishes landing in the top 25. Noren had a good start to the event and went on to finish on the weekend with 66-65, thanks to his bogey free front nine of round three and two eagles in during his final round. Woodland also had a good start with a great finish going 69-66 on the weekend. Below was a highlight from Gary’s chip in during his Saturday round that was shared to the PGA TOUR X handle.

From the week prior…

PGA TOUR – Valspar Championship

Thomas and Matt Kuchar were in the field at the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Golf Resort. Justin Thomas specifically had a strong start to the week, going 68-69 in his first two rounds and carding a bogey free back nine on Thursday. Kuchar on the other hand had a slower start but brought it back later in the week to finish even par for the event and finish “low Team Troon member” at T49.

  • T49 Matt Kuchar: 75-67-70-72 = 284 / E
  • T64 Justin Thomas: 68-69-79-71 = 287 / +3

LPGA Tour/Epson Tour – Atlantic Beach Classic

Also in the week prior, the Epson Tour wrapped up its three stop Florida swing with the Atlantic Beach Classic held at Atlantic Beach Country Club. Team Troon Benedetta Moresco was in the field and finished the event top 30. This marked the second week in a row she had landed in a top 30 finish. Solid playing Benny!

COMING UP

PGA TOUR – Valero Texas Open

Three Team Troon members will be playing this final week leading up to the Masters at the Valero Texas Open. Alex Noren, Matt Kuchar and Matt Fitzpatrick will all be in the field. Matt Kuchar has played well in this event over the years as back in 2001, he finished runner up as well as recently last year he finished T3 as well as Noren finished T15. We are looking forward to a great week at the Valero!

We were excited to welcome Team Troon member Benedetta Moresco last week as she made a stop in AZ. During her visit she came out to play Troon North Golf Club, Kierland Golf Club and the newly open and fully lit night golf at Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills.
