Team Troon On Tour: Thomas, Noren, Kuchar and Fitzpatrick all weather the AT&T

Troon - Team Troon On Tour

PGA TOUR- AT&T Pebble Beach

Despite the shortened time on the Monterey Peninsula due to the weather conditions, it was a great event at Pebble Beach Resorts with Team Troon well represented. All Team Troon members in the field finished under par in the weather shortened event. Justin Thomas led Team Troon with a T6 -13 finish (his second Top 10 in consecutive weeks – more on that below). Some highlights from the event; Justin Thomas finish of -13 was possible since he only carded one bogey during all three rounds. Alex Noren holed out on his third shot on 11 to eagle and Matt Fitzpatrick had a fantastic start to his second round birding 4 out of his first 5 holes! The newest member of Team Troon in Erik van Rooyen (more on that below) also fared well, finishing T20 in the designated event. Great job to all Team Troon members! Final results for Team Troon are as follows:

  • T6 Justin Thomas: 68-67-68 = 203 / -13
  • T20 Erik van Rooyen: 68-70-69 = 207 / -9
  • T26 Alex Noren: 71-68-69 = 208 / -8
  • T39 Matt Kuchar: 69-70-71 = 210 / -6
  • T58 Matt Fitzpatrick: 69-68-76 = 213 / -3

Earlier this month

PGA TOUR – The American Express

Two events prior Team Troon members Justin Thomas and Alex Noren were playing well at The AMEX in the Coachella Valley of CA. It was Justin Thomas first week back on tour for 2024, and he did a great job prepping in the off season as he posted scores in the 60’s all week and what was more impressive was his third round -11 61, making it a bogey free round but also going on a birdie streak from holes 12-17. Alex Noren also had this fair share of bogey free rounds as both his second and third round qualified as well as going on a bogey free streak for 46 holes of the event and finishing T25 -19.

  • T3 Justin Thomas: 65-67-61-68 = 261 / -27
  • T25 Alex Noren: 62-68-69-70 = 269 / -19

While not Team Troon per say, but sending Nick Dunlap, winner of The American Express a congratulations on a great week! Dunlap was the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event since Phil Mickelson in 1991 at the Tucson Open, which is now the Troon-managed The Club at Starr Pass.

PGA Champions Tour – Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai

The Champions Tour had their first week back on tour and Team Troon Colin Montgomerie put together a great week to kick off 2024. He carded only three bogeys the entire week, he finished -9 and to finish in the top 20. Great playing Colin!

  • T18 Colin Montgomerie 69-70-68 = 207 / -9

COMING UP NEXT WEEK

PGA TOUR – WM Phoenix Open

The WM Phoenix Open, also known as ‘The People’s Open’ is making its way to Scottsdale this week and this event especially holds a piece of golf history for its electrifying atmosphere and record-breaking attendance. We are looking forward to a great week, especially as we are going to be rooting on six Team Troon members in the field, Matt Fitzpatrick, Matt Kuchar, Alex Noren, Justin Thomas, Gary Woodland and the newest edition to Team Troon in Erik van Rooyen

Fun Fact: Justin Thomas has consistently done well in this event, landing in the top 15, four years in a row! In 2020, he finished -14 and 21’, 22’, and 23 finishing -13
