Cal-baptist Wins 21st Annual Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational
Rio Verde, Ariz. (March 1, 2024) –Rio Verde Country Club recently hosted 20 women’s collegiate teams from across the country for the 21st annual Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational. The three-day competition saw Cal-Baptist capture the team championship, holding off both 2023 champion Xavier and Illinois State by 5 strokes. Illinois State graduate student Ali Shrock took the top honors in the individual competition with rounds of 72-69-70 to finish with a total of 211. The tournament, which was hosted in conjunction with Western Michigan University, was played on Rio Verde’s par-72 Quail Run Golf Course at 6,044 yards.

Rio Verde Country Club members and community residents graciously volunteered their time to coordinate the four-day event, which included a Thursday practice round. Golfers were served multiple meals and enjoyed the hospitality.
