Scottsdale, Ariz. (May 22, 2023) – Casa Verde Golf, an industry-leader in golf course construction and renovation, recently welcomed Arthur Schaupeter as Vice President. Schaupeter will oversee projects for the boutique golf course construction and construction management company. Casa Verde Golf will utilize Schaupeter’s vast knowledge of golf course architecture to help manage renovation projects, liaise with architects and brainstorm solutions for clients.

A member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, Schaupeter has more than 30 years of golf course architecture experience. He began his career working alongside golf course architect Keith Foster as an apprentice and draftsman. Together the two completed a number of high-profile courses, including Buffalo Run, The Bandit, Gateway National, Haymaker and Persimmon Woods. In 1998, he started Arthur Schaupeter Golf Course Architects and has since been involved creating or renovating more than 100 golf courses across the country. Noteworthy Schaupeter designs include TPC Colorado in Berthoud, Colorado; The Highlands of Elgin in Elgin, Illinois; The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Missouri; and Highland Meadows in Windsor, Colorado.

“Art brings tremendous talent, a passion for great architecture and a keen eye for detail to the Casa Verde Golf team,” said Troon Executive Vice President Phil Green. “His knowledge of golf course architecture and construction along with his experience in designing many award-winning layouts will be an incredible resource to Casa Verde Golf clients.”

A graduate of the University of Colorado, Schaupeter has a degree in environmental design with an emphasis in landscape architecture and urban planning. He believes in putting the golf in the golfer’s hands” and creating diverse, multi-option holes that do not dictate the play to the golfers, instead building holes with a variety of playing options that golfers can discover for themselves. This philosophy of creating fun, strategic golf courses puts golfers in a positive mindset, while allowing them to enjoy their golf experience, regardless of their score.
