“We’re excited to share this summer’s Championship schedule with the Chicago golf community. We have incredible tournaments planned for amateur golfers who enjoy competing against others in the community, including the Senior Amateur for those 50 and above, the Junior Amateur for ages 10 to 13 and 14 to 18, as well as our inaugural Chicago Women’s Amateur to be played in August at South Shore Golf Course. Spots are limited in these events, so I encourage golfers to sign-up soon to guarantee their spots,” said Matt McIntee a lifelong Chicago resident and Vice President of Business Development for Troon, the management company that oversees Chicago Park District Golf facilities.

“Leading off the 2024 Chicago Park District Golf’s amateur schedule with the Senior Am at Marquette Park and the Cook County Am at Columbus Park, is a fantastic honor,” said General Manager Nick Pulido, who oversees operations at both courses. “We’re proud to be part of the fabric of the Chicago golf scene and be a place for people to compete for championships.”

Celebrating its 119th edition in 2024, the Chicago City Amateur Championship has a special place in golf history as golf legend and Evans Scholar namesake, Charles “Chick” Evans, claimed the title four times.
