Lake Toxaway Country Club Expands Amenities As It Unveils An All-new Golf Academy And “The Nest”, An Exciting Climbing Experience
Lake Toxaway, North Carolina (August 27, 2024) – Lake Toxaway Country Club, a premier private club located in the mountains of western North Carolina, recently unveiled two new member amenities – a stand-alone Golf Academy (in addition to their Tom Fazio Learning Center) and The Nest. The two new amenities enhance an already stellar club member experience that includes a Kris Spence-designed 18-hole golf course, a state-of-the-art 5,300-sq. ft. fitness facility, two championship croquet lawns, an award-winning outdoor pool, four separate dining experiences, and a racquet facility featuring five Har Tru fast-dry tennis courts, three dedicated pickleball courts and a full-service pro shop.
“Our goal with aspirational capital projects is to make a ‘WOW’ type impact on the membership,” said Lake Toxaway Country Club EVP/COO John Schoenbeck. “We were successful this season in doing that with the addition of the Toptracer Golf Academy, ‘The Nest’ and the new Firestone Grille patio. In addition to the obvious benefit of being able to use these new attractions, providing them has brought positive energy and ‘pride of club’ to the membership as well as to our employees.”
The all-new Golf Academy, located at the Tom Fazio Learning Center, opened in May and is a full-service, comprehensive player development program with swing analysis, custom golf club fitting services, training programs, and golf instruction with Lake Toxaway Country Club’s PGA professionals. The Golf Academy includes a lounge, restroom, an office, a hitting bay and three covered hitting stations. Toptracer Range captures and displays all swing and ball-flight data on monitors in the building as well as on a member’s digital device. Through Toptracer Range, members can also play iconic courses, take aim at virtual targets, and compete against friends or large groups. The Toptracer Range app stores individual club statistics and shot data so members can monitor improvement over time.
The Nest opened in June and is the club’s newest youth and adult amenity. The Nest offers access to a 30-foot climbing wall with three different climbs using an automated belay system. A 30-foot tower can be ascended and descended using netting and poles with a covered observation deck on top. From the top of the observation deck there are five at height obstacles that participants can traverse from pole to pole. Supervised by professionals, participants of all skill levels and comfort levels are encouraged to participate and can safely be accommodated.
