Tucson, Ariz. (July 30, 2024) – SaddleBrooke Two, a master planned community located north of Tucson, Ariz., recently completed a full renovation of its MountainView Golf Course. The project, which began in May of 2023, focused on the replacing the old irrigation system, improved drainage, bunkers complexes, turf reduction and improvements as well as adding new tees on the 27-year-old course.

During construction, multiple tee boxes were added or moved; a new state-of-the-art irrigation system was installed and all bunkers were strategically repositioned, reshaped and rebuilt incorporating a technically advanced drainage and liner system featuring Capillary Concrete. This new generation lining method increases the speed at which water flows through the bunker, minimizing washouts, reducing maintenance and producing superior playability. A new cart path was added from the 9th green to the putting green area and the golf operations team identified seven acres of turf that could be strategically removed to save on irrigation costs.

Off the golf course, the SaddleBrooke Two team redesigned the parking area, increased golf cart parking capacity, and also rebranded the Gary Panks-designed course with a new logo. The 18-hole MountainView Golf Course originally opened for public play in 1997 and has hosted NCAA Collegiate tournaments.

“This is a very exciting time for SaddleBrooke Two and the MountainView Golf Course,” said Director of Golf Operations, Mike Karpe. “During the renovation we took steps to improve overall conditions and reduce water use. Since reopening, we’ve heard great feedback from our members, their families, guests, and the greater Tucson community.”

Named one of America’s top 100 best master-planned communities, SaddleBrooke Two is a stunning Sonoran Desert community located 25 miles north of downtown Tucson, Ariz. The community features two championship layouts – MountainView Golf Club and The Preserve Golf Club. Set in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains, MountainView weaves through a hilly, natural desert landscape to create a fascinating layout. The wide-open design has generous landing areas and is a great course for low and high handicappers alike to enjoy. The Preserve Golf Club is set against the backdrop of the Santa Catalina Mountains and meanders through scenic canyons and foothills. With its thoughtful design featuring rolling fairways and subtly sloping greens, the course presents a delightful challenge.
