New Year. New Game.

We want this to be your best season yet and so we asked the team at Shot Scope what can golfers do to take their game to the next level in 2025.
Shot Scope have five tips to make the most of the upcoming season:
See a coach
Set some targets
Hit the range/practice area
Start tracking if you don’t
Have fun with it
The tips are all linked and should help drive you toward success this season, let’s get into it.

Start seeing a coach.
If you want to get better at the game of golf, unfortunately, it requires some investment. Whether that investment is money, time, or sometimes, your sanity there will be a cost.
Although it is unlikely you will be able to convince a coach to see you for free, it will save you time and your sanity in the long run.
There are few things more frustrating than spending your time practicing and seeing no improvement. But, are you practicing the right things?
Enlisting the help of a professional can ensure that you are working on the correct things for your game rather than continuing down a path of further frustration.
Remember, sometimes it can feel like things get worse before they get better when changing up your swing so be sure to persevere.
Set some targets.

With your newly acquired coach, it would be wise to set some SMART targets for the season - Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Relevant. Time-dependent.
By making your goal SMART you prevent yourself from setting unrealistic or unattainable goals. An example could be that you want to break 80/90/100 before the end of the season (whatever is relevant to your ability).
You can set however many or few you want but it is worthwhile to have a couple to help drive your practice and give you some motivation along the way.
Hit the range.

The course may not be open but the range probably is - unless the weather is really bad! In which case we would advise watching the 2019 Masters final round to get you fired up for some golf.
On a more serious note, if you combine the previous two tips it makes sense to hit the range to try and engrain the feelings from your coaching.
Every ball you hit is a step closer to the SMART goal you set. You may not go the extremes of Team TROON member Matt Fitzpatrick and take notes on every shot but hitting balls with a purpose in mind is a great start.
Matt may write his thoughts/data in a notebook, but you don’t have to with Shot Scope as we will learn below.
Start tracking if you don’t.

Whilst it is possible to record all of your data in a series of notebooks like Matt Fitzpatrick or Shot Scope founder, David Hunter, technology can do this now.
Shot Scope performance tracking products record all of your on course shot data and, post-round, instantly produce over 100 tour level insights into your game including Strokes Gained.
You can look at specific rounds, time periods, or seasons to see how your game has evolved which makes setting and hitting targets a lot easier.
The best bit? There are no subscription fees to access any of the stats or features. On average Shot Scope users enjoy a 4.1 stroke reduction after 30 recorded rounds - start tracking now to save strokes later!
Have fun with it!

Golf is both the most satisfying and most annoying game in the world. When it's going well, it seems effortless. When it’s not going well, it seems impossible - but that’s the fun of it, right? It is meant to be.
How often do you find yourself playing poorly and to try and rectify the situation, you start trying even harder to play better? How does that go for you? Probably not very well.
Sometimes, the harder you try, the more difficult it becomes. If you can relax, regain your composure, and remember that you are out there to enjoy yourself, it can help.
Keep in mind that if you don’t do any practice between rounds you really cannot expect to see improvements.
With various types of subscription free golf technology available, from GPS watches to laser rangefinders to shot trackers and more, Shot Scope have a product to help every golfer get the most out of their game.
So we have but one question. Is 2025 going to be the year your golf game kicks into gear?
